Adobe, a web design software company, announced on Wednesday that it would be launching a new HTML5 solution for developers.
The Adobe HTML5 pack is an extension of the Dreamweaver CS5 software, a leading HTML creation tool used for web design. The extension comes as a result of customer feedback when the company discussed additional HTML5 investments. Emphasizing Adobe's commitment to the new HTML5 standard, the extension will be available for free on the company's website.
"One of Dreamweaver's great strengths is its extensibility and it's encouraging to see that Adobe has wasted no time in providing support for those parts of HTML5 and CSS3 that are already supported by several browsers," said David Powers, founder and developer at Foundation PHP.
HTML5 is quickly becoming the new standard of web development. YouTube and Internet Explorer 9 are already confirmed to support the emerging format.
Adobe launched Creative Suite 5 earlier this year. One of the big advancements of the program was that it allowed users to import flash animations into HTML5 Canvas mode, allowing greater compatibility with web browsers.
